Skinny Hobos
“Big riffs, Big drums!†is the slogan of Auckland two-piece rock band Skinny Hobos, and that description definitely does the band justice. Skinny Hobos combine tight, catchy riffs with heavy-hitting yet groovy drums to bring a powerful sound to the stage that two people shouldn’t be allowed to make. Since forming in early 2014, Skinny Hobos have been shaking stages around Auckland and the rest of New Zealand in 2015, honing their craft and locking in to deliver a high-energy show every time. Highlights include playing the second annual Waikerifest in Alexandra, opening for South African pop-punk legends Fokofpolisiekar at The King's Arms and placing second in the national final at the 2015 Demon Energy Battle of the Bands.
Skinny Hobos are currently in the process of recording their independently-funded debut album at Auckland's Roundhead Studios with engineer Nick Poortman, with a tentative release date of late November. Until then, the band will fit in gigs in Auckland and across the north island before the year is out with a proposed summer tour for January-February 2016 in the works.
